Umm Early Child Care

This child care facility is the third phase of the University’s Center for Lifelong Learning.

The 2,500-square foot building serves as both a childcare facility for students, faculty and the community, as well as a laboratory for students studying early childhood education. The building was designed to be compatible with the other buildings on campus, yet still have its own identity as a place for small children: it is used for preschool children, infants and toddlers. The preschool classroom has a lighthouse-like structure at its core. This reminder of the community’s marine heritage contains the office/observation space and a small play space.
